Make realistic 3D paper fruit ornaments with these free printables. Includes pears, apples, strawberries & more. Perfect for home décor or garlands.
There’s something so joyful about decorating with fruit. It’s fresh, colourful, and a little bit quirky. And the best part? These will never go mushy in the fruit bowl.
Think of them as the forever-fresh version of your favourite produce. Perfect for bringing a splash of summer to your home all year round. Whether you’re hanging them in the kitchen for a retro vibe, stringing them up for a garden party, or adding them to a picnic display that won’t attract wasps, these free printable 3D paper fruit ornaments are just plain fun.
The designs are realistic because they use gorgeous antique fruit illustrations from the Pomological Collection. Each printable set includes six images of the fruit: five showing the back view and one showing a tempting cross-section of the inside.
You can make pears, red apples, green apples, figs, peaches, oranges, lemons, strawberries, and even avocados. Make just one as a statement piece or create a whole fruity garland!

How to Make Your 3D Fruit Ornament
I’ll walk you through the steps using the orange design, but the method works the same way for all nine fruits, so once you’ve made one, you can make the whole fruity bunch!

Step 1: Print and Cut: Print your chosen fruit template onto good-quality paper or thin cardstock. Carefully cut out all six fruit shapes, five of the back view and one of the cross-section view.

Step 2: Fold in Half: Fold each fruit back neatly in half, printed side in. This will help give your finished ornament its rounded, “spear” shape. Leave the cross-section as is.

Step 3. Glue the Halves Together: Take two folded back-view halves and glue their unprinted sides together, lining up the edges carefully. Keep adding pieces one at a time until you have five pieces glued together in a rounded shape.

Note: Three of the shapes are mirror images so they’ll fit together better – look closely when matching them up.

Step 4. Add the Hanging Loop: Before sealing it up completely, run a line of glue down the central spine and stick your piece of twine or string in place. This will be your hanging loop.

Step 5. Finish with the Cross-Section: Glue the final cross-section orange piece onto the last two halves to close up the ornament. This gives the fruit a fun “just sliced” look.

Step 6. Tidy Up: If any white edges are peeking out, trim them with scissors. Then use a coloured Sharpie to match the fruit colour and hide the edges for a neat finish.

- Hang them from a twiggy branch in a vase for a fruity centrepiece.
- String them together to make a summery garland.
- Add them to a bowl for a fruit display.
- Use them as gift toppers for a fun twist.

These are such fun. I can imagine the oranges being useful for Christmas decorating too, maybe with a spring of holly atop. I'm pinning this so I can find them again come late November!
