27 Fun Frida Kahlo Inspired Crafts: Unleash Your Inner Artist
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Frida Kahlo with our curated collection of inspired crafts. These projects celebrate the iconic artist's legacy and style, from upcycling and paper crafts to painting and embroidery.
I first put this collection of Frida Kahlo crafts together after visiting the wonderful Frida Kahlo exhibition at the V&A. Well, Frida has worked her magic on me again! I recently spent an afternoon at the newly opened Frida: The Making of an Icon exhibition at Tate Modern London, and I came home bursting with crafty ideas.

It's easy to see why Frida continues to inspire artists and makers around the world. Her bold self-portraits, colourful Mexican style, flower crowns and fearless personality have made her much more than a celebrated painter. Today, she's a true cultural icon, and her instantly recognisable look lends itself perfectly to all sorts of fun and creative DIY projects.
She is considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century (by the Tate Modern). It's not just her vivid artwork that made her famous, but her extraordinary life and personal style. As a result, she has been immortalised as a cult figure and is one of the most instantly recognisable artists.
So, I couldn't resist giving this roundup a refresh. I've added another 10 fabulous Frida-inspired projects, taking the collection to 27 colourful crafts. Whether you fancy making Frida home décor, jewellery, paper crafts or fun DIY gifts, there's plenty here to inspire your own little fiesta of creativity.

Ohh that is lovely to hear. Frida is so inspiring!
She's my hero too. Her life story is so inspiring and the way she expresses herself in her art and the love letters she wrote to Diego is just so honest. So I'm loving all these ideas, Claire.
Thank you, Michelle. The exhibition at the V&A was really insightful about her life, if I’m ever in Mexico City I will visit the blue house.
