Don't throw away your empty tin cans you can use them to make lots of wonderful things for your home.

The first thing to do is to wash the cans in hot soapy water and remove the lables.  Then decide how you will decorate them with paint or decoupage.

Paper napkin decoupage is a very good way to decorate the tin cans with bright colours and beautifull patterns like these Marimekko planters.

Some of the crafts involve chainging the shape of the tin cans.  This might be crushing them with a hammer or simply drilling some holes into them.

Tin cans can be turned into beautiful planters.  Food cans work best as they are waterproof on the inside and won't rust.

Or use them for storage solutions.  From desk caddies, craft storage to utensil holders and even wine racks.

Punch holes into the side of the tin cans.  Or cut slits in the side and add decorations to turn them into lanterns and candle holders.

Tin cans are fun to decorate for the holidays.  From cute Easter and Valentine buckets, to painted fall pumpkins and even Christmas trees and snowmen.
